“EBENEZER – Thus Far the Lord Has Helped Us””

This February month, EMI Church joyfully celebrates 22 years of God’s faithfulness, grace, and unfailing love. Since its humble beginnings, this church has been more than just a building — it has been a sanctuary of truth, a house of transformation, and a beacon of the Gospel of Jesus Christ.

Looking back, we can confidently declare, like the prophet Samuel in 1 Samuel 7:12:

“Then Samuel took a stone and set it up… and called its name Ebenezer, saying, ‘Thus far the Lord has helped us.’”

Indeed, the Lord Jesus Christ — the head and foundation of this church — has carried us, led us, fought for us, and built us. Every soul saved, every family restored, every miracle witnessed, and every message preached is a testimony of His hand at work.

From Inception to Impact

In 2002, EMI Church was birthed through vision, prayer, and obedience. What began as a seed of faith has grown into a flourishing ministry, touching lives locally and globally. Through the leadership of Dr. LNT Kgobokoe and Pastor Baba Kgobokoe, and by the power of the Holy Spirit, EMI has become a house of leadership, excellence, and kingdom purpose.

Jesus promised in Matthew 16:18:

“I will build My church, and the gates of Hades shall not prevail against it.”

True to His word, He has built EMI, stone by stone, person by person, year by year.

Ebenezer: Our Stone of Remembrance

In times of challenge, He provided.
In moments of need, He multiplied.
When we had no answers, His Word gave light.
Where we lacked strength, His Spirit empowered us.

Through every high and low, Jesus has remained our anchor (Hebrews 6:19), our shepherd (Psalm 23:1), and our builder (Hebrews 3:4).

A Glorious Future Ahead

As we mark 22 years, we don’t just reflect on the past — we press toward the future, full of hope and vision. The same God who has brought us this far will continue to lead us forward.

“Being confident of this very thing, that He who began a good work in you will complete it until the day of Jesus Christ.”
— Philippians 1:6

We move forward, declaring His Lordship over every area of ministry. We go forth, proclaiming His Gospel to the nations. And we continue to build lives, raise leaders, and transform communities — all to the glory of Jesus Christ.
